SWANSON COACHING, LLC - COACHING AGREEMENT and ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY 2026-27

As your Coach, I am committed to providing the best services and experience possible. Therefore, I provide a lot of information upfront to increase clarity and decrease confusion.

This document must be acknowledged electronically prior to purchase.

Our Work Together: I take our work together very seriously; I ask you to do the same. The process of achieving your intended results is of the utmost importance. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of your transformation. I will always treat it as such.

In preparation for each session, I encourage you to find a quiet place and minimize distractions if possible. I recommend having a notebook handy to jot down notes, thoughts, and insights as we go along. If you feel better walking while being coached, please walk. This is your time, do what is necessary for you to be fully engaged and mindful in this process (e.g. not driving, not cooking, not in a noisy cafe, not on TikTok, etc). I want you to get the most out of our time together.

Our first 2-4 sessions will be laying the foundation for our time together.  We will discuss:

• Assessments (strengths, personality, etc)
• Long-term goals
• Your Vision (optional)

In subsequent sessions, it is my duty to provide structure for our sessions.  With that in mind, in every session I will ask you two questions:

1) "What would you like to focus on today?"

2) "What would you like to walk away with today so that we know our time together is well spent?"

I ask these questions to save us time in your sessions. Sure, we can talk about a few things at the top of a session, and from there you can decide what stands out in terms of what you'd like to discuss; however, I encourage you to take some time - even if it's just a few minutes before our session - to get really thoughtful about what you want to talk about. This is YOUR time. The quicker we can dive into a topic, the more time we'll have to explore, and the more value this will be for you. If you are stuck, review your assessments and/or long-term goals to see if anything comes up that may be of use to be coached on.

Keep in mind that the answer to number 2 does not have to be an actionable goal (or experiment, as I like to call it). It can be that you want clarity around a particular issue, or you just want to clear your mind and talk some things out to reclaim some space.

More about how I work:

• I will be honest and direct with you in your sessions, and sometimes ask challenging questions to make you think deeply. These questions might make you uncomfortable as well, but this is often where change happens. Everything is coming from a place of non-judgment.

• I may ask about bodily sensations (somatic inquiry is important in my coaching) or emotions that are coming up.  If you do not feel comfortable with this, tell me in the moment, and I will shift directions.  That said, “the body keeps the score,” and emotions are incredibly important.  I invite you to allow yourself to go down this road if you are able, as many powerful shifts can happen in these spaces.

• Along those same lines, if at any point you feel uncomfortable with something I did or said, please let me know. Open, direct communication is key in the coach-client relationship.

• I may interrupt you if I feel like you are going into too much "story" or getting off-topic. These interruptions are always in service to you, the client - to make sure you are getting the most out of our time together. Let me know if this is not ok, or if there really is a point to what you are saying.

• Know that "not knowing" is ok.

• Know that silence is ok.  There may be times when I don’t say a word - get used to it. ;)  This is to allow you time to process and reply on your own time.

• I am not a pushy coach - but I will challenge you.

• Realize that sometimes the rewards or "a-ha" moments of coaching come in between sessions when you've had time to reflect on what was discussed. Something may click or make sense 4 or 5 days later. Sometimes things don't click, and that's ok too. Consider everything to be a grand experiment. Be curious!

If at any point you feel like you do not want to continue coaching (for whatever reason), please let me know. I do ask that we have a "closing session" to discuss this and wrap things up. I will always leave the door open for you should you decide to come back.

If any of this does not make sense or you have any questions, please let me know. I'm here for you!

Payment: Payment terms and agreements are set up in the coaching package, program, or service selected. In most cases, payment options involve paying in full or setting up an installment plan. You may pay for coaching services using major credit cards or PayPal. If you select a payment plan option, you will receive an email when payments are due each month. Payment, whether in full or installment, is due before our work begins.

Refunds: I am dedicated to working with ideal clients and forging amazing results. Occasionally, a coach and a client are not an ideal match for each other. If, after discussion and troubleshooting, we agree that our relationship is not ideal, I will issue a pro-rated refund for packages after 3 coaching calls of a program
Single sessions (Vision Session, Enneagram Typing Session, Single Coaching Session) are non-refundable.
Synchronous and asynchronous online courses are non-refundable.

Scheduling Sessions and Session Etiquette: You may schedule sessions from my website (please let me know if you need assistance with this). I will make every effort possible to arrive at our sessions and end our sessions on time as scheduled; your time is important, and I want to respect that. I request that you do the same for me. If our coaching starts late due to tardiness on the client’s part, the session will end at the regularly scheduled time to maintain harmony with our schedules.

Please arrive in a quiet place so that you can give your full, undivided attention to our work together. If pets and children need to be in the room, consider rescheduling. I consider our sessions sacred time; it is my hope that you feel the same way.

I do not coach while driving and do not coach a client while they are driving. Ever.

Rescheduling and Cancellations: Continuity of coaching calls has a direct positive correlation with outcomes and success. Therefore, invest in yourself by not rescheduling or canceling your appointments, if possible. If something out of your control happens and you need to reschedule, please give me as much notice as you can and no less than 24 hours. You can do this through my website.

Email: I respond to email daily or within 24 hours Tuesday-Saturday. I do not coach on Sundays or Mondays.  Because I believe coaching is a sacred relationship and a focused process, I do not formally coach via e-mail. However, I do encourage you to email during the week to ask a question or share insights or celebrations. If what you need requires more time or a more complicated answer, please hold it until our next session, where we can uncover a deeper solution, and I can offer you a higher level of service.

Confidentiality: I will not, at any time, either directly or indirectly, use any of your information for my own benefit, disclose, or communicate, in any manner, any information to any third party without your consent or permission; except in cases of emergency where your health, well-being, and safety (or the safety of those around you) are at risk. I will also not divulge that we are in a working relationship with anyone, as a courtesy to your privacy. However, you are free to tell others that we are working together if you like. At times I may ask to record a session for training and development purposes. I never use any identifying info save for first names. You may always decline to be recorded.

Please see the “Assumption of Liability” document (below) for more on recording sessions.

Non-Disclosure: Some of the materials I share during our work together are proprietary and copyrighted for Swanson Coaching LLC purposes only. They are not to be distributed or shared for monetary or proprietary reasons.  You may share them with friends and family.

Feedback and Testimonials: As we conclude our work together, I may ask you to complete an evaluation. I find this extremely valuable to my coaching practice as it helps me to provide even better services to future clients. I may ask if I can use your comments in the form of a testimonial to share with others who are thinking of working with me.

Decisions and Results: Working with me as your Coach rests on a foundation of personal responsibility and owning your power. You are ultimately responsible for all decisions made in your life. I will show up at our sessions and facilitate compassion, focused questions, responses, and feedback while also teaching you specific lifelong, self-coaching skills. I will also offer resources and share my experiences, as needed to support our work together and your progress. However, you are fully responsible for the decisions and actions you decide to take. If you decide to take a recommendation, it is your choice and you take full responsibility for it. If you decide to work with someone based on my referral, that relationship would be entirely separate from our relationship.

SWANSON COACHING, LLC - CLIENT ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY 2026-27:

Please read this agreement carefully before participating in coaching services with Swanson Coaching, LLC.
By acknowledging this agreement electronically, I understand and agree to the following:

1) Sandy Swanson/Swanson Coaching LLC (Coach) provides professional coaching services designed to support clients’ personal and professional growth. Coaching may focus on self-awareness, communication skills, emotional intelligence, leadership capacity, decision-making, life transitions, confidence, values, strengths, and personality.

I understand that coaching is a collaborative, client-centered process, and that the purpose of coaching is to help me explore my thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors, and patterns so that I can make more intentional choices and move toward the goals that are meaningful to me.

Coaching is a partnership. My Coach provides structure, thoughtful questions, observations, feedback, and support. I remain responsible for my own decisions, actions, and results.

2) Sandy Swanson is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and a mentor coach. Coaching services may include life coaching, leadership coaching, communication coaching, mentor coaching, or other coaching services within Coach's professional scope of practice.

I understand that Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, medical care, legal advice, financial advice, or consulting. Coach does not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions, prescribe medications, or provide legal or financial advice.  If at any time the Coach believes the Client would be better served by another professional, including a physician, licensed mental health professional, attorney, financial advisor, or other specialist, the Coach may recommend an appropriate referral.

If I have concerns regarding my physical health, mental health, medications, or any medical condition, I agree to seek advice and treatment from an appropriately licensed healthcare professional. I acknowledge that I remain responsible for decisions regarding my physical and mental health.

3) Coaching is a self-directed process, and meaningful change depends largely on my willingness to participate honestly and actively.

I agree to:

• Attend sessions prepared and ready to engage.
• Participate openly and honestly to the best of my ability.
• Take responsibility for the decisions and actions I choose to make.
• Communicate any concerns or changes that may affect our coaching relationship.
• Understand that Coach cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results.

4) Coaching conversations may include exploring personal experiences, relationships, beliefs, values, emotions, communication patterns, and behaviors.

I acknowledge that this process may occasionally feel emotionally challenging as I develop greater self-awareness and consider new perspectives. While coaching may feel therapeutic, it is not therapy and is not intended to diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Coach will hold this information in confidence and will not release or disclose it to any other person without my prior consent, except as required by applicable law.

5) Coaching sessions may occasionally be recorded for training, mentor coaching, supervision, credentialing, or certification purposes, including submissions to the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Any case studies or certification materials will be presented anonymously and with the Client's privacy in mind.

I understand that I will always be asked for permission before a session is recorded and may decline to be recorded. Before any recording is shared with a coaching mentor, supervisor, or assessor, Coach will obtain my separate written consent for that specific recording.
I may request that my coaching sessions be recorded and that copies be made available to me after each session. If I prefer that none of my sessions be recorded, I will notify Coach accordingly.

6) I understand that coaching is a voluntary, self-directed process. I am solely responsible for the decisions I make and the actions I take, or choose not to take, before, during, and after coaching sessions.

I acknowledge that coaching outcomes cannot be guaranteed and that any growth or change depends upon my own participation, commitment, and willingness to apply what I discover through the coaching process.

In consideration of my participation in coaching services, I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation, including any physical, emotional, psychological, financial, or other consequences that may arise.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Sandy Swanson and Swanson Coaching, LLC, together with their officers, employees, agents, contractors, successors, and assigns, from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to my participation in coaching services, except where prohibited by applicable law.
I understand that I may discontinue coaching at any time, subject to the terms of my separate Coaching Agreement.

• I have read and understand the Client Assumption of Liability.
• I have had the opportunity to ask questions about its contents.
