Discover the essential steps for reconnecting your physical body with your mind and emotions to confidently navigate chronic illness and live an energy-filled and healthy life.
I know you want to live a vibrant, thriving life.
You want to have balance when it comes to your work-home life and to be more confident in your body despite having the experience of Hashimoto’s.
You want to be able to give yourself the compassion and self-care that you deserve every day.
But the problem is that sometimes you feel that your body betrayed you. And, you might be feeling quite alone - that no one gets it.
You might be asking yourself things like: What did I do to deserve this?
I get it. I asked the same questions: Why is this happening to me?
The world in which we live has our bodies stressed out from the demands of our careers and families. Then there’s also the effects of the processed foods we eat, the chemicals in our homes and workplaces, the overuse of technology...
No wonder we are all so sick.
Unfortunately, our modern lives and culture in which we live toss and throw us around every day like a never-ending “roller-coaster”. It has our systems overloaded, overwhelmed, and exhausted.
Being on this non-stop roller coaster has led to an increase in chronic illness and autoimmune disease in a culture where the mental and emotional side of health is often overlooked and put aside.
The good news is, there is a way off of this roller coaster.
When you have the awareness of actually being on this crazy roller coaster in the first place, you’ll be able to more clearly see how your choice of language, how you work through emotions, and how you choose to set clear boundaries are just as important as what you choose to eat.
When you start making better choices, it changes everything.
This is why I created this online course: to share with you the information I’ve learned on my journey as well as give you the support needed to navigate this toxic world in which we live so you can make informed, empowered choices about your health.
My promise to you is that you will step away from this training with the knowledge and confidence to create a fabulous life despite having autoimmune issues.
After taking this course, you will have the ability to better face life’s daily challenges. You will be able to let go of that perfectionist mindset that permeates our culture, and, you will become more relaxed and resilient and able to accept or let go of whatever comes your way.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Have a better understanding of what diet, sleep, and exercise routines are best for you - not someone else - so you can regain your confidence with food and lifestyle choices
- Experience greater ease when it comes to your doctors and understanding your labs so you are able to communicate your needs clearly with your care team
- Learn how to say no and set better boundaries to create a better work/home balance
- Have tools and exercises to help better process emotions which will help you handle whatever comes your way with curiosity, not fear
- Learn how to let go of the things you cannot control - and how to work with the things you can control to allow the space for more peace in your life.
You’ll be able to see how life doesn’t have to be a crazy roller coaster, and that the idea of being healthier than you ever thought possible - despite having Hashimoto’s - can become a reality.
My Journey and Invitation to You . . .
Prior to my diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I visited many doctors who constantly told me “you’re fine” or “just take a nap, you’ll feel better” or “you’re just depressed - here, take this antidepressant”.
I believed them at first. But deep down I knew I wasn’t depressed - I knew that something was wrong.
I finally found a doctor who listened, ordered the correct tests and diagnosed me with this autoimmune disorder - this “Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.”
It was a relief to finally have an answer to why I wasn’t feeling well! But while I had an answer, I was also sad, confused, and quite angry at my body for “failing” me.
That’s when I started doing my own research.
I learned that our modern life and culture is not always kind to our bodies and minds.
I learned that as far as diet, lifestyle and thyroid medications helping us - well, they only go so far.
I learned that 99% of healing must be done by ourselves.
That I had to make healthy choices for myself and start taking full responsibility for my own well-being.
There are myriad emotions that accompany autoimmune disease, and I discovered that until I addressed these emotions of grief, loss, frustration, and anger, I would be unable to fully move forward into the life I wanted to live.
I learned that our words and our language - including what we say to ourselves - play a big part in our healing as well.
And I learned that trusting myself and finding people around me who were going through a similar journey was so important.
I now feel healthier and more confident than I ever have in my life, despite this thing called Hashimoto’s.
I am now devoted to sharing what I have learned with others who are experiencing Hashimoto’s and want to go past the usual “change your diet and lifestyle”.
I invite you to join me in discovering how great life can be again and how you too can learn to confidently manage your Hashimoto’s, no matter where you are on your journey!

What You'll Learn in the Course
Week 1
Autoimmune Disease: Understanding The Big Picture
When we have a better understanding of autoimmune disorders and how disease relates to emotions and stress, we can better see how and why things happen in our bodies. With the knowledge that everything is connected (both inside and outside), we are able to better equip ourselves so we can continue to lead healthy and productive lives.
In this module you will:
- Better understand how the world we live in today is shaping our emotions and our bodies
- See how the body is a self-healing organism - if we give it the right tools with which to heal
- Discover ways to organize and personalize your self-care routine
Week 2
Heal the Gut, Heal the Brain: Cultivating Confidence (No Matter What You’re Eating)
Healing our leaky guts not only helps digestion, but it helps us feel more calm, confident, focussed, and relaxed. Caring for our physical bodies is of paramount importance!
Here you will discover:
- What gluten does to our bodies and if everyone needs to eliminate it from their diets
- Other foods that could lead to leaky gut if you have Hashimoto’s
- How to work with the emotions that come up from eliminating foods
Week 3
Your Body and Your Emotions: Processing Trauma in Healthy Ways
This module will take a deeper dive into the myriad emotions and the stress that often comes with the experience of Hashimoto’s. You’ll gain a greater understanding of what happens to us when traumatic events occur; you’ll also gain insight as to how to better handle deep emotions that may surface when first diagnosed and those that arise when living with autoimmune disease.
After this module you will:
- Be better able to process emotions as they arise - before they become overwhelming or stuck
- Understand trauma as it relates to your body and autoimmune disease
- Learn how to deal with others and their emotions and “not get sucked in” to bad energy
Week 4
Sleep and Exercise: Listening to Your Body’s Innate Intuition
Cortisol and melatonin play a big part in our wake-sleep cycle, and exercise can affect these levels, which in turn can affect our sleep patterns. Here we’ll discuss the best sleep practices as well as how to accept those times when sleep doesn’t seem to be on the agenda for your body.
You'll walk away knowing:
- The best at-home test you can take to see what your cortisol levels are
- Why heavy exercise is not always the best thing for those of us with autoimmune issues
- How to create morning and evening routines that speak to your values
Week 5
Your Body and Your Blood: Recognizing When “Normal” is Not Normal
So many of us have been told “your labs look normal, there’s nothing wrong!” which can be frustrating to hear when we are not feeling well. In this module, we’ll discuss how important it is to find a doctor who will listen to you, support you, and work with you, not against you. We’ll also look at the importance of functional lab ranges when it comes to feeling your best, and look at the ways you can support yourself in-between doctor’s visits.
Key takeaways will be:
- How to better understand your own thyroid and iron labs
- How to speak confidently with your doctor when you don’t speak the language of medicine
- Where to find support outside of your doctor’s office, both in your community and in yourself
Week 6
No Body’s Perfect: Appreciating and Accepting Whatever Comes Your Way
Our bodies are amazing, self-healing organisms and are able to heal if we give them the tools with which to do so. That said, autoimmune disease is complicated, and most experience a lot of hills and valleys along the way not only in their physical healing, but their emotional healing as well. The key to moving forward is to be willing to feel failure and learn from it!
In this module you will learn:
- How to get off the “positivity wheel” and rejoice in failures
- Accepting where you are in your body, your mind, and with emotions
- What to do when the perfectionist in you starts talking

Meet Sandy Swanson
Sandy struggled with various health issues for over a decade before finally getting a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. Her journey of learning about nutrition and wellness for her own purposes led her down the path of wanting to help others who also have chronic illnesses.
Sandy now finds great meaning and purpose in helping others untangle the web of confusion surrounding autoimmune and chronic health issues and especially loves working with open, honest types who have a good sense of humor about themselves (and life in general, for that matter) and are willing to dive deep in their sessions.
For the past seven years, she has volunteered her time with the Hashimoto’s 411 support groups to help hundreds of people navigate their way through and to better thyroid health. Sandy is now a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), an ICF ACC (International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach) and a Kresser Institute ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC).
Sandy is originally from Wisconsin and visits family there when she can, traveling there via motorcycle when the weather allows. Her current ride is a Triumph Tiger 800XC.
